The Next Alarm Might
Be Yours!
Each year Goodwill Fire Company responds
to approximately 200 alarms in this community.
Within the past twelve months, among our calls,
we’ve extricated families from crashes on Route 100,
responded to a working house fire in Bally Borough,
assisted on structure fires in Upper Hanover and
Douglass, rescued trapped occupants of a van in
Hereford Township, and freed a young woman pinned in
a car wrapped around a tree in Washington Township.
We are your fire and rescue company . We
respond to fires in homes, sheds, cars, and barns.
We extricate people trapped in the wreckage of their
cars and trucks. We extinguish brush fires racing
across dry woods. We render emergency medical care
until an ambulance can get to the scene of a heart
attack or choking We pump basements flooded by
tropic storms. We practice, train and learn so that
when you need us, we will be there with the right
skills and equipment to help you..

This year we are spending $30,000 for a
new roof over the engine room and purchasing new
pagers for all personnel as the county switches to a
new system better able to reach us.

Goodwill
Fire Company of Bally
provides fire
coverage for the Borough of Bally, and portions of
Washington, Hereford, District, Upper Hanover,
Douglass (Montg), & Pike Townships. We supply
rescue coverage for all or a portion
of those municipalities plus the Borough of Bechtelsville
and the remaining portions of Washington, Hereford and
District Townships. We also respond for a variety of
medical assists when requested by Bally
Community Ambulance.

Anniversary Celebration 
2) $65,000 to be used to install an
exhaust ventilation system inside the fire
company engine room. We protect our health by wearing
SCBA - Self Contained Breathing Apparatus to enter
smoke filled structures, yet for years have endured
exhaust filled engine rooms both before and after
alarms. This grant will install a system to take the
exhaust fumes directly from the truck and vent them
outdoors. Before the system is installed the crew
emptied the station, had the ceiling and walls
repainted, and refinished the concrete floor.
